Prof. dr Mirko Resan is an ophthalmology specialist, ophthalmic surgeon and one of the leading experts in cataract and refractive surgery in Serbia - with over 20 years of surgical experience. He is Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Defence in Belgrade and, since 2023, Head of the Eye Disease Clinic at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) - actively involved in clinical work, education and the development of modern treatment methods.

He completed additional training abroad - including an international cataract surgery course in Prague in 2007 and advanced training in anterior segment surgery in Switzerland in 2013.

Prof. dr Resan is President of the Serbian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and author and co-author of numerous scientific papers published in international SCI-indexed journals. He is also co-author of the textbook 'Ophthalmology for Medical Students' and contributor to professional monographs and international publications.
