By invitation of the organizers, Milmedic Clinic was represented by our ophthalmologist Dr. Elisaveta Stanic, and expert consultants Dr. Nenad Petrovic and Prof. Dr. Dragana Ristic.

This international event was dedicated to modern approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases, where experts from across Europe exchanged knowledge on the latest innovations in therapy and the role of supplementation in managing age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

On April 24, 2025, the educational center of Milmedic Clinic hosted a professional training course titled “Phacoemulsification – Level 1”, organized by the Serbian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (SSCRS).
This course was intended for young ophthalmologists at the beginning of their surgical training in the field of cataract surgery. The program included both theoretical lectures and practical sessions, guided by experienced instructors.
Special emphasis was placed on familiarizing participants with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies used in modern phacoemulsification, providing valuable insights into current surgical standards and practices.

The Association for Cataract and Refractive Surgery of Serbia, in collaboration with the Milmedic Special Ophthalmology Hospital and the Synfinity agency, is organizing a basic PHACO course with a wet lab titled "Phacoemulsification – 1st level"

The 41st Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS)—the leading European organization in the field of cataract and refractive eye surgery—was recently held in Vienna.
Our doctors, Elisaveta Stanić, Marija Karatoli, David Simonovski, and Prof. Mirko Resan, attended the congress, which brought together over 12,000 ophthalmologists from around the world to exchange knowledge, enhance their skills, and explore the latest trends and treatment methods in European ophthalmology.
The insights and innovations they bring back will be directly applied in the daily practice of Milmedic Clinic, further elevating the standard of care we provide to our patients.
The 23rd Congress of Vitreoretinal Surgeons of Italy, with international participation, was held from June 8th to 10th in Trieste.
Among the invited speakers were Milmedic Clinic’s expert consultants — Prof. Miroslav Vukosavljevic, Dr. Nenad Petrovic, and Assoc. Prof. Dragana Ristic — who, in addition to delivering their lectures, also took part in numerous panel discussions with international colleagues, exchanging experiences in posterior segment surgery.
The event was exceptionally organized by the Italian Vitreoretinal Society, featuring live surgery sessions with simultaneous broadcast from four operating rooms across Italy, Turkey, and France, providing valuable insights into diverse surgical techniques and approaches.

The 22nd Congress of Ophthalmologists of Serbia, with international participation, was held from June 1st to 4th, 2023, in Vrnjacka Banja, bringing together a large number of ophthalmologists from across the region.
Among them were doctors from Milmedic Clinic — Prof. Miroslav Vukosavljevic, Prof. Mirko Resan, Dr. Nenad Petrovic, Assoc. Prof. Dragana Ristic, Dr. David Simonovski, Dr. Elisaveta Stanic, Dr. Marija Karatoli, and Dr. Marija Zakula — who delivered lectures on topics closely related to their respective fields of expertise and clinical focus.
At a recently held expert meeting of ophthalmologists at the Hilton Hotel in Belgrade, organized by our long-time partner Amicus-Alcon, Milmedic Clinic was represented by our ophthalmologists Dr. Elisaveta Stanic and Dr. Marija Karatoli, as well as our expert consultant Dr. Nenad Petrovic.
Dr. Petrovic gave a lecture on the topic of the latest intraocular lenses, titled: “Why Vivity?”, highlighting the benefits and advancements of this innovative IOL technology.
At a recently held ophthalmic surgery training at the Alcon Training Center in Barcelona, our doctors Elisaveta Stanic and Marija Karatoli had the opportunity to further advance their expertise.
Building on fundamental skills, this course was designed for surgeons with experience in cataract surgery, aiming to enhance their knowledge and refine their techniques by working on more complex cases, utilizing the latest technologies and surgical methods.
At the 13th International Ophthalmology Symposium, organized by the Ophthalmology Association of Macedonia and held on February 25th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Skopje, Dr. Marija Karatoli from Milmedic Clinic participated as an invited guest.
The symposium gathered numerous ophthalmologists from Serbia, Croatia, Italy, Turkey, and North Macedonia, aiming to exchange experiences and discuss modern trends in patient care and treatment in the field of ophthalmology.
The ophthalmology congress titled “Innovations in Ophthalmology”, held in Skopje on December 23rd, brought together a large number of experts from Serbia, Turkey, and North Macedonia.
At the invitation of the European Eye Hospital, members of the Milmedic team, Dr. David Simonovski and Prof. Dr. Miroslav Vukosavljevic, also took part.
